The Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch is our signature fundraising event to celebrate our matriarchs, our community, our 2020 youth scholars and scholarship recipients, and ultimately to raise funds that will benefit future scholarship recipients and continue to grow our youth empowerment programs.

By Governor Cuomo's mandate New York State is presently on Pause. Stay at home orders are in place for everyone except those whose work is deemed essential and may remain so for several more weeks. While so much remains uncertain, the health and safety of our supporters and members are of highest priority. Our Annual Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Brunch slated to be held on May 9th is canceled. We are hopeful that we will reunite with our community of mother's, service partners and scholarship recipients in the next year. Refund requests are presently being processed.
We WILL move forward with the selection of scholarship recipients. As you may imagine there are many stories of students whose worlds have been turned upside down by this crisis. The mental, emotional and economic impact is a staggering one. What remains certain is that the support to our youth must continue. They will need thoughtful programming, reinforced encouragement and financial resources for activities and education in order to continue their forward movement and development in life. The manner in which education is to happen may shift but the costs likely will not. The work continues.
If you are moved to donate to our scholarship fund and programming, please feel free to do so. We are grateful for the continued support and know the youth we serve will be appreciative of your generosity as well.
Scholarship recipients will be announced in the coming weeks.
