WHAT IS THE RHOER CLUB?
The Rhoer Club was originally founded in 1939, with the sole emphasis upon molding fine characters and the beautiful personalities of young ladies. To this end, through its Rhoer Club, the sorority assumes the responsibility of encouraging and promoting high scholastic achievement, development of leadership abilities, and nurturing the individual talents of its Rhoer Club participants.

​The Eta Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated mentors the Rhoer Club by providing scholastic guidance, community service, academic advice, and economic awareness. RHOER CLUB ACTIVITIES
Rhoers participate in Eta Nu Sigma Chapter service activities as well as special youth development programs designed by the sorority. Examples of Rhoer Club programs include:

Sponsored in conjunction with and in commemoration of Sigma Week, the Sigma Youth Symposium was designed to highlight some of the prevalent concerns that negatively impact our youth: drugs, teen violence, abuse, low self-esteem, suicide, teen pregnancy, etc.
The Mwanamugimu Essay contest was started under past grand basileus Dr. LaRona Morris with its focus on providing an opportunity for students to increase their knowledge of the historical and contemporary development of Africa. Since its beginning, the contest has been expanded to include pertinent global and current community issues. Its prime objective includes improving writing and research skills.
This project is designed to develop an awareness of various banking facilities and their available services. The goal of Wee Savers is to allow participants to become knowledgeable of the real life skills of saving and buying stocks and bonds, ranging from ages 6 to 18 years.
#HashtagLunchbag is a humanity service movement dedicated to empowering and inspiring humanity to reap the benefits of giving through the use of social media. We create and use bagged lunches, complete with love messages, as a vessel to spread this love and share our experiences to inspire others.
Through community service and leadership development, Sigma Gamma Rho is dedicated to helping each Rhoer by:
Encouraging higher educational and career aspirations by providing awareness of issues affecting women in the workplace, career choices and resources for college placement and sources of financial aid. management.
Increasing each participants self esteem and thereby discouraging self-destructive behaviors such as drug/alcohol abuse, early pregnancy and dropping out of school.
