Eta Nu Sigma Chapter was chartered on December 21, 1991. The chartering members of Eta Nu Sigma Alumnae chapter were: Michelle Arransky-Orroyo, Angela Heres, Zelica Henry, Cheryl Barnes-Horton, Grace Powell, Judith Ricot and Adrienne Simmons.

When the chapter was chartered in 1991, its primary purpose was to foster sisterhood among its local membership, while providing community service, scholarship, and empowerment to communities throughout Brooklyn and Queens, in New York City. Since 1991, some of Eta Nu Sigma's service activities have included its Wee Savers program, which provides financial workshops to youth throughout Brooklyn, Operation Big Book Bag, during which the chapter donates hundreds of dollars worth of school supplies to underprivileged students and annual participation in New York Cares Day and AIDS Walk New York.
